Founded in June 2007, the movie club of XJTLU is the largest art club on the campus. Excluding past members, the movie club has more than 400 members. The management team is composed of DV group, stage play, activity department, MUSE, design department, and film production team. The team is led by the President, two vice presidents, and the heads and deputy heads of each department. As an interest club, the biggest vision of the movie club is to become a club where every member can enjoy the process and harvest.

The movie club provides a free platform for members to shoot whatever they want and perform in whatever form they want.  Movies lovers can share with what their thoughts and reflections of movies, and drama lovers can shine brightly on the stage. Students who love acting can perform in front of the camera, who love telling story can share their imaginations with each other and who are interested in behind-the-scene works can pick up shooting and editing skills.

Whether it is regular activities such as on-campus screenings, school appearances, or large-scale events such as X-acting King and various film festivals, it attracts many followers from inside and outside the school. In the 2016 Ninth XJTLU Film Festival Awards Gala in Suzhou Art Center, the audience of nearly 500 people witnessed the important step of the movie club going out of XJTLU, and such support is the driving force for the movie club to continue to grow. 

Since the establishment of the movie club, it has been awarded Class A Society of art societies of XJTLU for ten consecutive years. In 2015, it was named "2015 XJTLU Annual Society"; in the university association exhibition in Jiangsu Province, it won the honorary title of “Jiangsu Province's Most Influential Society”; in the " Group Battle” of Suzhou Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation Zone in 2015, it was awarded the title of “Top 10 of Suzhou Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation Zone's Fanciest Club”... ... These awards are undoubtedly endorsement of the movie club's efforts over the years, and at the same time they also drive us to continue our efforts to develop into a better XJTLU movie club.

President's message

If you ask me what the spirit of movie club is, I must admit that it is "die first and live later ", and you can never imagine its charm in full bloom. I once spent two months writing stage plays, trying to give audiences the best comedy they've ever seen in their lives. My whole crew stayed with me for a whole September, rehearsing for 4-5 hours every day, but in the end we gave up the chance to welcome new students, because we were not good enough. This is the first time that the movie club did not attend the orientation. With the main character gone, the chances of getting on stage were slim, and I felt more demoralized than ever in the crew. However, during the National Day holiday, our whole group did not give up. We took turns to play the roles and adjusted the script. Finally, the protagonist returned. Frustration did not bring down the stage crew, but inspired the fighting spirit of the movie club, the activity department took a month to prepare the stage effect, DV group took turns to shoot a documentary for the stage crew, and came out with the most gorgeous, the most difficult propaganda film. After the performance, the audience embraced and cried, which really made people feel the charm of "die first and live later".

Thanks to the five vice presidents of the movie club who accompanied me from 2013 to 2014, Wei Wei, Wang Sheng, Wang Xiao, Li Fengjun, Ma Hong, and the members who contributed to the movie club in 2013.You have made the movie club more mature, cohesive and influential. Always take pride in having fought with you.

I hope that every year in the future, the movie club will meet a group of children who are willing to take it as their home and dedicate themselves to it, and pass on the spirit of the film club. Happy 10th birthday to movie club!

It is a great honor for movie club to receive this honor. This excellent paper is recognition of the movie club and recognition of us. I can't get today's award without help, encouragement and support from the school, teachers and members of the club. The school provides a united, free, open and competitive atmosphere and environment for these associations. Each association is striving to achieve its goals and ideas. Under the guidance of teacher Liu Siyuan, every problem we encounter can be solved easily and every lesson learned can be improved to a higher level. Teacher's patience and responsibility let us feel warm in the growth of the process, the club crew is also working hard. Over the past year, the management and members of the club united to seek the development of the club, and make every effort to do a good job in every activity, not being afraid of hardship. It is precisely because of this movie club, we move forward at the same pace, accompanied by the growth of each other. I believe that through the persistence and dedication of the members of the movie club, the club will "sometimes ride the wind and waves, and sail straight to the sea"!
