In the process of globalization, the culture is tending toward homogenization, the traditional culture of various countries is facing a huge challenge. As an international university on the land of China, the Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is charged with the mission of cultural exchange and transmission. Under this background, the Chinese language and Culture Union of XJTLU has emerged as the times require. It aims at inheriting and developing Chinese traditional culture, promoting the fusion of Chinese culture and the culture of the other part of the world, and devoting itself to creating a platform for the exchange of Chinese language and culture in line with the new area. The XJTLU Chinese Language & Culture Union (CLCU) is a student autonomy organization led by the Language Center (LC) of XJTLU. The aim of the organization is to inherit and carry forward the Chinese traditional culture, to promote the integration of Chinese culture with the cultures of all regions of the world, and to build a platform for the exchange of Chinese traditional language and culture in line with the new era. The CLCU will create a new way of cultural exchange and will build an interactive experience platform of contemporary Chinese traditional culture by means of online and offline mode, and by means of communication, experience, teaching, and so on, combining existing culture-related organizations and societies, and building an interactive experience platform of contemporary Chinese traditional culture. The Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University Chemistry Society is a young club. This club was first established in 2013 and recruited its chemistry enthusiast member in the whole university for the first time in 2014.Besides helping our members organizing an event and other fun and engaging activities, this club also aims to help students from other departments to gain a deeper understanding of chemistry. Additionally, this club also holds some fun chemistry DIY activities and helps students preparing for the final exam by distributing some review materials. The XJTLU Chinese Debate Club, a leading academic A-level club, holds titles like "Annual Best Club" and "Best Progressive Club." It boosts debate interest, with management and debate teams. The former arranges events, while the latter offers training, competitions, and university interactions.

Communication Society was founded in 2011. It does not have a very long history but has deep influence in academic council.As it is rather important to know how to communicate with others contemporarily, our society aims at improving students’ language competence and speech standard.  We give those students who desire to overcome their timidity psychology a stage to exercise and enhance. Since our society established, we have held several career talk, competition and training courses and they all have been largely successful.  Our internal labor division is clear and efficiency. We aimed at establishing a club like a family thus making every students find their own status in our club.

XJTLU Cantonese Club is an interesting community with the responsibility of teaching Cantonese, promoting Cantonese culture and making good friends. Through a series of colorful activities, we will lead our friends from all over the world to understand the broad charm of Cantonese culture from all directions and angles. Cantonese is not only a language, Cantonese Club is not only a fellow society, but also the warmest family for Cantonese cultural enthusiasts all over the country and even the world. Diversity of activities including Cantonese courses, Cantonese cuisine, Cantonese songs competition and new trend from Canton area would be held in school life such that every club members can deeply experience Cantonese culture.

In Painting Calligraphy troupe, forms of art including calligraphy, painting, sand painting, hand drawing and design. Calligraphy means that write words with special linellae. Painting including traditional sketch, gouache and oil painting. Sand painting is a special art form, means using sand to paint.
