On March 14^th, the first collective spring recruitment, organized by the Club Program Office, was held in the sunken plaza, north campus. It involved one hundred and four clubs in total.

        In the past, the spring recruitment was organized separately by each club, leading to a lack of efficiency and causing problems for management changing of each club. Therefore, Club Program Office decided to organize a collective spring recruitment. And they chose the sunken plaza which provided sufficient display area.

       Compared with traditional spring recruitment, this year’s spring recruitment achieved a huge success. For example, the American Football Club recruited few members last year, but with this collective spring recruitment, it recruited nearly twenty members. Besides, Business Student Association, SIEC, Science & Innovation Association, and SS Music Studio also said that this year’s spring recruitment was more effective. For some smaller clubs, it is a precious opportunity to raise visibility.

There were 104 clubs who participated in the spring recruitment. All clubs used various methods to attract more students. The Kendo club members wore their costumes and performed kendo; the members from SNDEC promoted their organization with gas masks. The students of Sky Sound Guitar Club brought us a wonderful outdoor concert. Even for those students who did not prepare to join any clubs, it was still interesting and attractive.

        Though some clubs did not participate in this recruitment and the weather being a little miserable, the spring recruitment was very successful. Maybe this spring recruitment could be as beneficial to clubs as the fresher’s fair and become one of the important dates on the calendar for clubs of XJTLU.
