Being as a well-internationalized university, XJTLU has been committed to cultivating technical and managerial professionals with international perspectives and competitive capabilities since its establishment, which completely dovetails with our national strategic requirement of educating internationalized talents.
In order to carry out our mission and to actively meet the development needs of our country, XJTLU was approved as a cultivation base by China Center for International People-to-People Exchange (CCIPE) of the Ministry of Education for the "Innovation & Practice Program for the Cultivation of Globally Competitive Talents” in October 2022. Up to now, XJTLU has been the first and only Sino-foreign University being approved by CCIPE.
Based on this, Student Club Support Center (SCS) launched “XJTLU International Competence” training program, which aims to enhance students' knowledge and skills, national sentiment, and international vision through participating in the global governance courses and practical training organized by the Ministry of Education.
During the first year of the project, XJTLU’s performance stood out from many other universities, with the average scores of a number of courses ranked in the top three or even the first nationwide. During the winter vacation in 2023, a total of five students participated in the online practical training camp organized by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), and one of them was particularly outstanding, with the highest grades and best classroom performance nationwide, and successfully earned a letter of recommendation from the professors of UNITAR. In the summer of 2023, XJTLU successfully sent two outstanding students to the United Nations University in Germany for a monthly training and to the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Shanghai for a 3-month internship respectively.
