On 5th May, 2017, ‘Light up the field’ 2017 Sports Ceremony in XJTLU was held at Foundation Building 2S. Sports Spirit was like a flare torch that light up the prominent contribution and outstanding performance of school teams and sports clubs, as well as lighting up the glory and touches every member experienced.   

‘Thanks’ was the most common word emerged in Sports award Ceremony. Thanks for everything happened in this year. It was coach in each team that provided members with skilful experience; it was the team members that share mutual happiness and sorrow, enriching everyone’s colourful life; it was opponents that taught members persistence and never giving up. Because of all of moments, sports spirit could be inherited and developed. 

2017 Sports Ceremony was organized by XJTLU Physical Education Centre and XJTLU Student Union, in order to commend members in school teams and sports clubs for prominent contribution and outstanding performance. 8 school teams and the members of 36 sports clubs were invited to enjoy this Sports Ceremony. Nine awards were set including the star of sports, the best manager, the best team leader, sports clubs with A-level of the year, the most influential school team, the most influential club of sports, the best school team, the champion of ‘3 v 3’ and Sail cup.

Before the Sports Ceremony opened, videos about every school teams and sports clubs were showed in the large screen. It not only displayed the outstanding achievements, but also reviewed the glory and touch of the year. It reminded audiences of the intensive training that they undergone; the competition they fight in field side by side; the sadness when bushing past the championship and the pride when they finally raised the trophy. These videos contained outstanding performance filled with tears and sweets, as well as treasurable memory belonging to every member.

Except exciting awards ceremony, Other clubs support to provide some performance, such as Star MV Town, Oriental Dance Club, Wind-Gear Roller-Skating Club, Magic Club and Cantonese Club , including dancing, roller skating, magic and singing show. At the same time, lucky audiences were randomly selected during lottery process.

2017 Sports Ceremony was not the end. With treasurable memory and skilful experiences, students in XJTLU are sure to overcome all obstacles and continue to create more glories.
